The Governorship candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Kogi Governorship November election, Engr. Musa Wada may be facing another serious crisis over an alleged declaration of fake Primary School Leaving Certificate.
He was petitioned by the Anti-Corruption and Research-Based Data Initiative, (ARDI), before the office of the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Adamu Mohammed on suspected declaration of fake Primary School Leaving Certificate which was presented to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC as a prerequisite for participating in the concluded 2019 Kogi State Governorship Election by Mr. Musa Atayi Wada. This was made known in a press release signed by the Executive Secretary, Chief Dennis Aghanya.
In the petition which was received by the office of the IGP on the 6th day of March, 2020, the group alleged that they are specifically petitioning the IGP based on the attached documents which they obtained. According to them, the authenticity of the certificate, as claimed by Mr. Wada is in doubt as both the Kwara State Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development and the Kogi State Ministry of Science and Technology could not find the claimed certificate in their records respectively.
The said documents include Letter of request by Femjoe & Associates chambers to the Kwara State Ministry of Education requesting confirmation of certificate of Primary Education with Registration No. 910922 belonging to Musa Atayi Wada; Letter of request by FEMJOE & ASSOCIATES chambers to Kogi State Ministry of Science and Technology requesting confirmation of certificate of Primary Education with Registration No. 910922 belonging to Musa Atayi Wada; Response letter by the Kwara State Ministry of Education denying such certificate as emanating from them as it was not found in their records; Response letter by the Kwara State Ministry of Education denying the claimed certificate as emanating from them as it was not also found in their records; and Claimed Primary School Leaving certificate of Mr. Musa Atayi Wada
“It is our humble view that, with the credibility questions fast on the rise on the integrity of persons striving to occupy or occupying public positions in the country and the huge resources being expended by this administration to fight corruption in the country, efforts must be hastened to prosecute any person found guilty of crimes in violation of the constitution to serve as a deterrent. Situations where glaring crimes are treated with kid gloves are not helping our society. We verily believe that this petition discloses a cases of suspected forgery and must be investigated thoroughly to establish the culpability of the accused.
“As ordinary but very concerned citizens, and members of organized Civil Society, motivated by an unshakeable belief that there must be high standards in our conducts, we have therefore, in line with our zero tolerance for corruption, acted to expose a possible criminal breach of our laws. Bearing in mind the ongoing fight against corruption in the country, this is a public service by ARDI and her partners.
This  petition is under the auspices of the whistle-blower policies. We believe it is now your duty to act in the interest of the nation, and to do so promptly,” the petition reads.
