The administration of Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello is set to build a modern palace befiting of the stool of the Obaro of Kabba, Oba Solomon Dele Owoniyi.
Commissioner of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Barr. Salami Momodu Ozigi made this known when he paid an official visit to the Obaro of Kabba, Oba Solomon Dele Owoniyi in his palace at Kabba.
Barr. Ozigi said Governor Bello is a man of his word saying he would use the limited resources of the state to actualize the noble project.
The Commissioner said establishing an independent palace for the current Obaro and succeeding ones in the future is long over due. He added that since the governor has high regard for traditional institutions he would do his best to build the palace.
Barr. Ozigi also appreciated the ordiliness he observed in the Obaro’s palace during the visit noting that such gesture would be replicated in the palaces of other traditional institutions in the state.
The commissioner assured the paramount ruler of his preparedness to synergize with the traditional rulers to ensure peace in the state.
In his remarks the Obaro of Kabba, Oba Solomon Dele Owonoyi thanked the commissioner and his entourage for the visit.He appealed to the state government to upgrade and fill the existing vacuum in some stools in the area.
Oba Owoniyi thanked the governor for correcting the past injustices in the appointments of traditional rulers in Okun land. He assured him of his people’s support at all times.
At the Maigari of Lokoja palace, the commissioner thanked the Maigari, Alhaji Muhammad Maikarfi the III for maintaining peace in his domain.
Barr. Ozigi called on the royal father to synergize with the ministry to consolidate on the existing peace in the state.
In his response the Maigari of Lokoja,Alhaji Muhammad Maikarfi III thanked the commissioner for the visit. He called on politicians to have the fear of Allah in the discharge of their duties to humanity.
The paramount ruler prayed for the success of the administration of Alhaji Yahaya Bello and that of the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftiancy Affairs.
At the palace of the Ohimege Igu of Kotokarfe, the commissioner applauded the unprecedented peace existing in the domain. He said his visit is to seek for his blessing and prayers for him to succeed in office.
The commissioner said Koto people are hospitable wherever they find themselves. He urged Kogi people to emulate them to move the state forward.
In his response the Ohimege Igu Kotokarfe said Kogi indigines have tribal connections which bind them as one. He said the people of the state should see themselves as one and continue to develop their state
The paramount ruler thanked the commissioner for making the visit to traditional rulers his first official function saying it has never happened in the history of the state.
He prayed for the commissioner to succeed in office adding that he was prepared to offer his moderate advice whenever he is called upon.
In a vote of thanks at the palaces of the royal father’s, the state ALGON chairman, Alhaji Taofiq Isah thanked the commissioner for paying homage to the traditional rulers in the state. .He also thanked the traditional rulers for standing with the governor throughout the last governorship elections in the state.
The commissioner was accompanied to the Obaro’s palace by the twenty one Local government administrators in the state.
