The Kogi East APC Justice Forum has accused the Minister of Steel Development, Prince Shuaibu Abubakar Audu, of allegedly making moves capable of destabilizing the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kogi East following the outcome of the party’s senatorial primary election.

In a statement issued on Thursday, the group claimed that the Minister became dissatisfied after his in-law, Senator Jibrin Isah Echocho, lost what it described as a “free, fair and credible” primary conducted by the party.

The Forum alleged that Prince Audu boycotted the primary election and failed to participate in the democratic process despite being a key stakeholder in the APC in Kogi State.

According to the group, it was troubling that a serving Minister who was absent from what it termed a credible nomination exercise was now allegedly involved in efforts aimed at undermining the collective interest of party members in Kogi East.

The group maintained that the APC leadership in the state ensured a level playing field for all aspirants and commended party members for their peaceful conduct throughout the exercise.

The Forum also called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to direct the Minister to make public the results from his Ward and Local Government Area during the last governorship election in Kogi State, insisting that political relevance should be measured by electoral performance and grassroots support.

Warning against actions capable of creating disunity within the party, the group reaffirmed its support for the leadership of the APC in Kogi State and urged members to remain united ahead of future political activities.
