
The Rector of Federal Polytechnic Idah, Dr. Y.B. Usman, has been honoured with an Award and Commendation Letter by the Centre for Ethics and Self Value Orientation (CESVO) in recognition of his exemplary leadership and commitment to ethical administration.
The award presentation took place on May 6, 2026, in the Rector’s office and was witnessed by members of the institution’s Top Management Committee (TMC).
Presenting the award, the Executive Director of CESVO, Prince (Ethicist) Salih Musa Yakubu, said the recognition followed a detailed assessment of the Polytechnic under Dr. Usman’s leadership.
According to him, the Rector distinguished himself in areas such as staff and students’ welfare, discipline, public conduct, adherence to due process, time management, emotional intelligence, physical discipline, timely execution of projects, and prudent financial management.
Prince Yakubu noted that the award and commendation letter were in acknowledgment of the achievements recorded by Dr. Usman during his three years as Rector of the institution.
Responding, Dr. Usman expressed appreciation to CESVO for finding him worthy of the honour and pledged to sustain and improve on the achievements already recorded.
He stated that the Polytechnic had witnessed remarkable progress in human relations, infrastructural development, discipline, and employment opportunities under his administration.
The Rector reaffirmed his commitment to the continued growth and advancement of the institution, declaring: “I have come to work, I want to work and I must work.”

Oniyide; the Bursar, Mr. Ibrahim Uba Usman; the Polytechnic Librarian, Mr. Bature Bitrus; the Director of Academic Planning, Dr. Abu Onoja; the Acting Director of Procurement, Mr. Christian Okwenya; the Dean of Students Affairs, Engr. Friday Omagu; and the Deputy Registrar and Head of Public Relations and Protocol, Mr. S.S. Omale.
