Two youth groups in Omala Local Government Area of Kogi State have called on Hon. Matthew Ochada, popularly known as HMO, to declare his intention to contest the Omala State House of Assembly seat ahead of the next electoral cycle.

The groups, Omala Youth Vanguard and Omala APC Voice, made the call in a statement made available to journalists in Omala, urging Hon. Ochada to step forward as what they described as a credible and capable candidate who can effectively represent the interests of the people at the state legislature.

According to the groups, the appeal followed growing calls from youths and community stakeholders who believe that Ochada possesses the leadership qualities needed to bring meaningful representation and development to the area.

They noted that Ochada has over time demonstrated commitment to the growth and development of Omala Local Government Area, adding that his track record of engagement with young people and community development initiatives has earned him widespread goodwill among residents.

“We are appealing to Hon. Matthew Ochada to consider contesting for the Omala State House of Assembly seat. We strongly believe he has the capacity, integrity and grassroots connection required to represent the people effectively,” the statement read.

The youth groups further urged Hon. Ochada to contest under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), expressing confidence that his candidacy would strengthen the party’s chances in the constituency.

They added that the call was borne out of their conviction that the time had come for a new generation of leadership that understands the challenges facing the people of Omala and is willing to work toward sustainable solutions.

“Our confidence in Hon. Matthew Ochada stems from his consistent commitment to the development of Omala LGA. We believe his emergence will bring fresh ideas and renewed focus on youth empowerment, community development and effective representation,” the groups stated.

The groups also called on political stakeholders, party leaders and residents of Omala to support the appeal, noting that collective action would help attract purposeful leadership capable of advancing the interests of the constituency.
