The Kogi Progressive Stakeholders Forum (KPSF) has dismissed reports alleging that its recent meeting in Lokoja was aimed at dividing the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.

In a statement signed by its Publicity Secretary, Sani Philips, over the week and, the forum said its attention had been drawn to what it described as misleading and negative narratives being circulated on social media by some unscrupulous elements.

According to the statement, the narratives were deliberately orchestrated to blackmail the forum, sow seeds of division within the APC in Kogi state, and misinform party members and the general public about the true purpose of its recent stakeholders’ meeting.

The forum explained that the meeting, held in Lokoja on February 4, 2026, overwhelmingly endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term in office and was not convened to create discord within the party.

“Ordinarily, the forum would not have dissipated energy responding to these baseless allegations, but in view of unsuspecting members of the party and in the interest of providing clarity, the forum wishes to unequivocally state that the forum is not a faction and does not represent any real or imagined faction of the APC in Kogi State.

“The forum is neither against nor in contention with the leadership structure of the APC in Kogi State.

“The APC in Kogi State remains one indivisible entity under the leadership of His Excellency, Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo, the Governor of Kogi State.

“The cardinal objective of the forum’s meeting was solely to endorse the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for a second term in office in view of his outstanding performance. In doing so, the forum emphasized the need for unity, cohesion, inclusion, equity and fairness in party administration towards a successful re-election campaign in 2027.

“The forum’s thematic focus is anchored squarely on the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, which it considers a strategic imperative and competitive advantage for winning all other elections in the state,” the statement read.

The forum said it is not an extension of any political tendency or personal ambition, but a collective platform comprising party elders, leaders and grassroots stakeholders committed to the unity and progress of the APC in Kogi state.

“The Kogi Progressive Stakeholders Forum is made up of eminent personalities from across the 21 local government areas of Kogi State, all of whom are active and loyal members of the APC, working to ensure unity, cohesion and a united front ahead of future elections.”

The forum urged those it described as mischief makers to desist from misrepresenting its activities, warning against any attempt to fan the embers of division within the party.
