AHEAD of November 16 Governorship election, a retired Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Suleiman Ejeh Abutu has been arrested along with five others by Police operative from the Force Headquarters Abuja for illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.
Abutu is the chairman of security committee for Musa/Aro campaign organization in Dekina local government council of kogi state.
It was reliably gathered that the arms and ammunition were procured to be used to unleash terror on innocent voters during the forthcoming elections.
So far, pump action guns, AK-47 rifles and pistols have been recovered from the suspects.
Rtd ACP Suleiman Ejeh Abutu and the other six suspects have so far made useful confessional statements to the police.
However, the Kogi State Commissioner of Police CP Hakeem Busari while contacted on the arrest he said the arrest was made by Police from Headquarter Abuja and that they have been moved to Abuja for further interrogations.
