Youths in Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency has thrown their weight behind Prince Kolawole Matthew, describing him as the best candidate for the House of Representatives seat.
The youths who made this known in a statement on Friday made available to newsmen, said Kolawole, tracks records speaks for him.
Their position which was convened by the group spokesperson, Korede Aiyenigba described the former Kogi Assembly Speaker as the ‘Best man for the job”
The statement reads apart:
”Kolawole Matthew is a distinguished former Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, recognized for his impressive leadership, empowerment programs, and legislative achievements.
”He was elected as the 12th Speaker on August 3, 2017, and was re-elected in 2019. As Speaker, Kolawole exhibited openness and a team-player spirit, which made him the longest-serving speaker in Kogi State’s history.
”During his tenure, he oversaw the passage of over 200 bills and motions aimed at good governance and economic development in Kogi State. His legislative work significantly improved revenue generation and governance quality.
”Kolawole’s empowerment efforts are a major highlight. He initiated various programs such as providing N4.5 million in education support to 350 students, empowering over 1000 women with livelihood materials, and supporting widows and youth in his constituency through empowerment schemes. His programs have addressed education, women’s empowerment, and economic support for his constituents, making a tangible difference in their lives.
”In 2023, Kolawole won the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket to contest for the House of Representatives seat for Kabba-Bunnu/Ijumu Federal Constituency. His victory was attributed to his strong track record, transparency, and continued empowerment initiatives. He has been acknowledged with awards such as the Democracy Heroes Award for Most Outstanding State Speaker in Nigeria, testament to his dedication and service.

H initiated and facilitated the construction and renovation of primary and secondary schools within his constituency, Implementing skills acquisition programs that empowered youth and women with starter packs and cash to start trades, Providing direct community support including sinking motorized boreholes, facilitating employment, and providing scholarships and payments for WAEC, NECO, and JAMB fees to indigent students.
”He Personally employed over 60 aides beyond the approved number to extend fellowship and support to his people, Facilitated rural electrification projects, such as extending electricity to communities that had never before had power, Grading and improving community roads within his constituency.
