The Obaro of Kabba and Chairman of the Okun Traditional Council, His Royal Majesty, Oba Solomon Dele Owoniyi, has lauded the rapid infrastructural development at Kogi State University, Kabba. The commendation came during a royal visit to the Vice Chancellor of the institution on Friday.

In company with the traditional ruler of Gbeleko, the host community of the university, His Highness Oba Akin Obamero, the Obaro was conducted around several completed and ongoing projects by the Vice Chancellor, Professor K.I.T. Eniola, fNSM, FRA.

Some of the projects inspected include: ongoing female hostel, ongoing male hostel, ongoing senate building, administrative office complex, ongoing faculty of Science complex, department of Theatre Arts Complex, department of Mass Communication complex, and block of classrooms.

Similarly, the Vice Chancellor took the monarch through the internal roads linking important spots and facilities within the campus.

Oba Owoniyi thanked the former Governor of the state, His Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Bello, for his foresight in establishing the university and ensuring balanced regional development across Kogi State.

He equally expressed gratitude to the incumbent Governor, His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, for sustaining and consolidating that legacy through continued support for the institution.

The monarch also commended the Vice Chancellor for his transparent and visionary leadership, noting that the traditional institution stands firmly in support of his administration.

In his remarks, Professor Eniola expressed appreciation to the Obaro for his continued support, both in words and deeds. He echoed the monarch’s gratitude to the state government for its commitment to the growth and stability of the university, adding that the institution remains focused on academic excellence, infrastructural development, and institutional integrity.

Similarly, Professor Eniola thanked the former governor Alhaji Yahaya Bello, noting that the former helmsman matched his words with actions in many ways and particularly in the area of education.
