The School of Technology, Federal polytechnic Idah honoured the Rector of the institution, Dr. Y. B. Usman and the Deputy Rector, Associate Professor Muhammed I. Yusufu, (Academics) with Architect of Excellence Award and Award of Excellence for Outstanding Scholarship and Excellence in Food Science and Engineering respectively.

The Presentation of awards took place during the School of Technology Fourth National Conference at SOGAS lecture Theater of the Polytechnic.

Dr. Y. B. Usman presented the keynote address on the theme “Innovating for a Resilient Future: Addressing Global Challenges Through Collaboration and Emerging Technologies ”

The erudite scholar, in his keynote address urged for collaboration, he said “Collaboration is the heart of global progress. No single Nation, Institution, or Sector can solve these issues alone”

Dr. Y. B. Usman, noted further ” Collaboration is no longer optional; it is essential. Whether it is Scientist sharing genomic data across contents, tech Companies and government,
co-developing AI policy Framework, or communities and universities co-creating local solutions- partnerships unlock the power of collective intelligence and shared purpose “.

He called on academia to work hand -in- hand with policy makers and industries. “Tech entrepreneurs must listen to farmers, teachers, and health workers,and citizens must be empowered to not only consume technology but shape its development”.

Earlier, the Dean school of Technology Mr. Onalo Sunday Ekele in his opening remark thanked the Top Management Committee members especially the Rector who is a member of the School of Technology for his support since his election as the Dean and for the support in making the conference a success.

Also honoured with Outstanding Scholarship and Excellence in Food Sciences and Engineering award is Dr. Michael Ukwuru of Food Science and Technology Department.

Present at the occasion were Engr.Sunday Apeh Deputy Rector (Admin.), Mr Bature Bitrus Polytechnic Librarian, Alh. A. D. Onoja, Acting Bursar among others.
