Being a response to accusations from Concerned Mopa Senior Citizens (CMSC) against Mopa Traditional Council (MTC), the Elulu of Mopa – His Royal Majesty (HRM), Oba Muyiwa Ibeun as it relates to decisions taken after the demise of the Otunba of Mopa and Oba of Ileteju-Mopa, His Royal Highness, Late Oba David Saul Olojo.

The CMSC have never for once seen and commended anything good that is happening to Mopa since the emergence of the current Elulu of Mopa, HRM, Oba, Dr. Muyiwa Ibeun, but to trail the path of negativity.

What is wrong in declaring a day to mourn the Late Otunba of Mopa who have gone to join his ancestors?

The Royal father served his father land as a military man and his community as a Royal father. The fact is that, this is not happening for the first time in Mopa.

It is just a mark of honour for the departed Mopa Royal father. Nobody dare come out nor walk on the streets of Kabba town when they are celebrating their “ORO” festival.

Nobody does anything for that day as there will be a total luck down from the public announcement made by their town crier. Travellers were only given special consideration because of the fact that they are not aware. And this is for a whole day.

The CMSC should stop quoting portions of the Nigerian Constitution to us, we all went to schools. Things are evolving in the present modern digital trend (age) and we are expected to develop along with it so as not to be left behind.

You won’t tell me that you are not aware or haven’t known that, (whether they are qualified or not) that First Class Royal Majestys’ all over the places goes about with PILOT cars for the usage of their security details.

There is no need to over flog this and that of the (mourning period) tagged public holiday, it was a special day of mourning and not a public holiday as such.

The MTC sat and felt we should observe a moment of calm and mourning in respect of Baba Otunba who served this country as a military man and his community as a Royal Father and who had gone to join his ancestors.

We did the same thing for the late Oba Julius Joledo when all shops were locked up till 12noon. It is not happening for the first time. If you don’t know certain things, I will expect you to ask questions.

The Elulu, the Balogun, other Obas, Baales and the other traditional Chiefs in the Council who are saddled with the responsibility of administering Mopa Kingdom with the consent of our various clans are capable of doing that and when you are in doubt, call any one of us and ask question(s), it is when we are not able to give you a satisfactory answer, then you can burst loose.

– You haven’t commended the Elulu in Council for their efforts in bringing constant and stable electricity light to Mopa,
– The College of Education Technical didn’t just fly and landed in Mopa. You will need to commend the role played by HRH, HE Rt. Hon. Oba Asiwaju Clarence Olafemi to bring it to bear.
– The scholarships awarded to 100 Mopa indigenes in the institution by the Elulu of Mopa.

The Mangal Industries have commence their Corporate Social Responsibility to Mopa.

As part of our Community Development Agreement (CDA) which has a tenure of 5 years.

1. We have in the document, scholarship scheme (which they started last year 2024) of N2m for scholars in the Higher Institutions
2. We have ₦2.5m for students in Secondary School @ ₦100k/student/year.
3. ₦2.5m for JAMB & ₦2.5m for NECO. This is to be shared among ESSMO, CRUISE Memorial, GSSSS and Technical College, Mopa students.
4. ₦3.5m For the supply of textbooks, notebooks and writing materials, on yearly basis
5. Renovations of 4 blocks of classrooms
6. ₦5m for the supply of free drugs to our General Hospital every year. We clamour for a solar powered refrigerator to preserve the drugs, however, electric refrigerator was supplied. We will explore that option this year.
7. A borehole per year. This was given to Odole, Adogbe-Mopa last year. The one for this year is already earmarked for Ijagbe-Mopa

NOTE: All the content of the agreement is subject to review every 5 years.
We have a Project Monitoring and Implementation Committee and a Community Liaison Officer to keep them on their toes and to report back to Mopa Traditional Council (MTC)

The CSMC and is/are not expect to only respond to negativity alone, please, also find time to acknowledge the good things that has happened to Mopa since the accession to the throne of his fore fathers by the New Elulu of Mopa, HRM Oba Dr. Muyiwa Ibeun the Balogun and his Traditional Chiefs in Council.

The best way to achieve success, peace and development in any Community is through dialogue and not perpetual confrontation.

It is well with Mopa!
It is well with the Elulu of Mopa and his Council of Chiefs!!
It is well with Mopa citizens!!!

Signed:
HRH, Oba Olushola Agbaje-Williams,
The Oba of Okeguru-Mopa and
The Chairman Committee on Administration MTC.
