THE Kogi State Commissioner for Works, Hon.Engr. Muhammed Ahovi Yusuf has charged the management and staff of the ministry not to only remain committed to their statutory responsibility, but be proactive in discharging their official duties.

Engr Yusuf made the call on Monday while addressing the Staff and Management of the Kogi State Ministry of works on his assumption of office as the Honourable commissioner.

He specially appreciated the former Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Alh Dr. Yahaya Adoza Bello, CON, the current Governor, His Excellency Alh Usman Ahmed Ododo and the State All Progressive Party (APC) for the opportunity given to him to serve as a commissioner in the State.

According to him, the Executive Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo is a man of development and would want to consolidate on the giant stride of Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello in infrastructure, hence the need for all hands to be on deck to sustain the tempo.
In his word, ” as you all know, the civil servants are the engine room of the Government therefore there is need to be committed, diligent and proactive in order to enhance service delivery.

Hon. Yusuf highlighted the Governor’s readiness in giving unwavering supports to the ministry as the ministry that is saddled with the responsibility of infrastructural development of the state.

Hon Yusuf further promised to bring innovations to the ministry by creating programmes that would attract both Domestic and Foreign Investors to the state.

In his remarks ,the Permanent Secretary of the ministry Engr Emmanuel O. Audu congratulated the commissioner on his appointment, promising that the management and staff of the ministry would give maximum cooperation in moving the ministry forward.

The Permanent Secretary finally thanked Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for appointing a professional to pilot the affairs of a technical Ministry like works adding that he has put a round peg in a round hole.
