AS the people of Kogi State are getting set for November Governorship election, the state governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello has said that he will not compromised with security during the Governorship election.
Speaking with newsmen on Sunday shortly after observing the Eld prayer in Okene, governor Bello stressed that the issue of security was very Paramount to him stressing that he will provide adequate security before, during and after the Governorship election.
He opined that the citizen and politicians in the state will be provided with adequate security.
“As the election is approaching in the state, I will not compromise on the security situation, I will ensure that the status of Kogi state as the second most secured state in the country is maintained and surpassed during and after the election.” Bello said.
He however called on relevant authorities to ensure level playing ground for everyone participating in the electoral process.
” I want a situation where everyone in the state including my challengers would be able to go out to every nook and cranny of the state to canvass for votes having it at the back of his mind that he is safe” he added.
Governor Bello also advised those inciting the public against the Federal government to desist from doing so as government tries to fix the decaying infrastructure in the country.
“The Federal government under the leadership of president Muhammad Buhari is trying his best to fix the country and tackle insecurity, what he needs now is cooperation of everyone and not detractions from any quarter.” He added.
