The Kogi State Coordinator of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Mr Olayiwola Lasaki, has advised the passing-out corps members in the state to avoid night journey as they traveled back to their various places.

Lasaki gave the advice at the passing out ceremony of 2018 Batch ‘B’ Stream II corps members of the NYSC in Lokoja.

He commended the outgone corps Members for their active participation in National Assignment for the past one year.

According to him, out of the 962 outgone corps members, 487 are males while 475 are females.

He congratulated the corps members on behalf of the NYSC Director General, Brig. Gen. Shuaibu Ibrahim, and prayed God to grant them breakthrough and open doors in all their engagements.

He advised the corps members not to despise their little beginning, saying, ”a little drop of water makes an occasion”.

He urged them to remain focused on becoming self reliant, self sustaining, and put what they had learnt into practice.

Lasaki urged the corps members to be focused and rely on the skills they had learnt during their service year.

”All the skills and entrepreneurship training you received during your one year of national service must be put into practice.

”Your service year had taught your many lessons of life with pragmatic experiences such as the orientation course, primary assignment, community development, project and initiative, among others.

”I am sure you are now better transformed than when you first came into the scheme,” he said.

Lasaki thanked Gov. Yahaya Bello and his administration for ensuring the safety of lives and property of corps members in Kogi, stressing that nothing could thrive without effective security.

The State Coordinator also used the opportunity to commission 10 Plastic Chairs and two Tables donated by one of the outgoing Corps Member, Mr Diamond Peter.

Some of the outgone corps members expressed their joy, saying their one year service had been an eventful one filled with sweet memories that would be cherished forever.

In her vote of thanks, the Corpers’ Laison Officer (CLO) of Lokoja Local Government, Miss Uthman Loveth, thanked the State Coordinator for his prayers and fatherly love and encouragement.

She stressed that the experiences would definitely impact positively in their journeys and careers.

The passing out of the Batch “B“ Stream 11 corps members in the state was devoid of the usual match pass among others.
