Traditional Rulers from Kogi State said to have been allegedly enlisted by Governor Yahaya Bello to present a letter passing a vote of confidence on the performance of the governor to enable him get reelection to President Mohammadu Buhari have been asked to have a rethink and not mortgage the interest of the state.

Also, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Kogi State chapter has said that the Traditional Rulers are aimed at satisfying their pay master against the maladministration and poor leadership the state has witnessed in the past three and half years.

Comodore Folusho Daniels Rtd, the State Coordinator Save Kogi Movement, stated this in a statement made available to pressmen in Lokoja, asked the traditional rulers who ought to be fathers to all, weigh their actions, as they would not be speaking the minds of their people.

The Coordinator described the proposed visit to Mr President by the selected traditional rulers and their speech as a function of coercion that is not the minds of the people, but described the planned visit of traditional rulers as one that is forcefully done by the governor to get relevance having failed in providing good governance.

According to the Save Kogi Movement, for a state that is battling myriads of challenges caused by poor leadership in the last three and half years, lamented that traditional rulers who are aware of the sufferings of their citizens, who have had to live a life of penury, would allow themselves to be used.

The Save Kogi Movement urged Mr. President to see the visit of the Kogi Traditional Rulers as another gimmick geared towards painting a bad situation currently experienced in the state, described the prepared speech given to the traditional rulers as unfortunate.

Commodore Daniels draw the attention of President Mohammadu Buhari to the several speeches and Interview granted by HRM. Dr Alhaji Ado Ibrahim, the Ohinoyi of Ebira land, and leader of the delegation that would visit Mr President, to the failure of the governor Yahaya Bello’s administration in the state in the past, urged Mr. President to juxtaposed his past remarks to the content of his prepared and handed speech, says it will certainly not be a true reflection of state of things in Kogi State.

While calling on President Mohammadu Buhari to see the visit of the traditional rulers as another game plan to mislead Mr. President on the happenings in Kogi state, lamented the sacrifice of integrity above the interest of the state by the enlisted traditional rulers.

The Save Kogi Movement described the Traditional Rulers planned visit as a visit of strange bed fellows who would not be speaking the minds of Kogi people, urged Mr. President to take their prepared speech given to them with a pinch of salt.

Commodore Daniels cautioned the traditional rulers coopted to visit Mr. President on the need to be mindful and not mortgage the state’s interest far and above pecuniary gains.

While noting that Mr. President is known all over the world as representing integrity, urged him not to be deceived by the sweet coated speech that the Traditional Rulers from Kogi state would present to him when they visit him on Wednesday as it is not a true reflection of the yearning and aspiration of Kogi people.

Meanwhile, the Kogi State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party has asked President Mohammadu Buhari to see the visit of some selected Kogi Traditional Rulers as one aimed at satisfying their pay master against the maladministration and poor leadership the state has witnessed in the past three and half years.

The PDP in a statement signed by Bode Ogunmola, spokesman of the party, alleged that the traditional rulers have been conscripted to play the song of the governor, who has only realized that his time in Lugard House has expired.

The PDP notes with emphasis that the leader of the delegation has personally and through interview in National Newspapers carpeted the Gov. Yahaya Bello’s administration, urged Mr President to see his speech as one handed over to him from the seat of power.

The PDP said it has chosen to draw Mr President attention to their scheming not because the APC has any chance in Kogi State in the forthcoming governorship election, but because traditional rulers who ought to be Fathers to all, have buried their heads in shame, over a pot of porrage, and have become the governor’s image maker having failed to provide governance.

The PDP called on the people of the state to be in the know of the activities of their traditional rulers who aside becoming active participants in politics, have soiled their hands, are now image makers, hired to launder the image of the failed government that have impoverished the people.

The PDP disclosed that no amount of window dressing would safe them having failed in the area of salaries, commission projects, and offer purposeful leadership.

The PDP however assured that the party would win clean ad clear in the forthcoming governorship election, thanked the Kogi people for their support.
