Ekiti State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi has approved the appointment of Mrs Olawumi Omonijo as the new Headmaster General of primary schools in the State.
Mrs Omonijo is to take over from Mrs Anike Apata who retired last year after 35years of meritorious service.
According to a government statement in Ado-Ekiti, Mrs Omonijo was until her appointment the Headteacher of SUBEB Model Nursery and Primary School, Ikere-Ekiti.
The statement explains that the duties of the appointee include monitoring, supervision, coordination of teaching and learning activities in primary schools across the state .
It urges the new Headmaster General to work assiduously towards the actualization of government’s objectives of transforming and taking Basic Education to greater heights in the state.
