Kogi State governor Alhaji Yahaya Bello has declared that there is no rift between him and the paramount ruler of Ebiraland Dr Ado Ibrahim as erroneously speculated in some quarters.
Addressing a mammoth crowd at the Eld praying ground in Okene , Kogi state on Tuesday, the governor said he can never go against the wish and interest of the monarch , adding that the Ohinoyi is his father and mother whom he had been enjoying his support .
“I did not have any problem with my paramount ruler , he has been playing the role of a father to me even before I became the governor of the state.
“There can never be peace and development in an atmosphere where there is rancour and crises, I am assuring that my administration will continue to provide dividend of democracy to the people of the state”
The governor also urged the people of the state to desist from statements that are capable of causing division among the leaders and the lead.
Governor Bello who pointed out that he came to power when recession was very high in the country , noted that he was able to utilised the mega resources accrued to the state prudently through transparency and accountability.
While eulogising the late Chief Imam of the Ebiraland , Sheik Musa Galadima for his selfless service the people of Kogi central, the governor charged Muslims to always live harmoniously with one another in the interest of peace and unity.
In his speech the Ohinoyi of Ebiraland Dr Ado Ibrahim charged his subjects to engage in venture that will add value to their lives and promote unity among the people of the land.
He solicited support for the governor to actualise his second term ambition , assuring that governor Bello will deliver more dividend of democracy if given the chance.
In his sermon , the Acting Chief Imam of Ebiraland Alhaji Salihu Abere charged Muslims to continue exhibiting the lesson learnt during the holy month in order to enjoy God favour on the earth and here after.
He cautioned parents to be wary of the activities of their children, saying as leaders of tomorrow their character needed to be moulded in religious way to suit the society.
