A pressure group,Lokoja/ Koto for good governance has warned the leadership of APC led by governor Yahaya Bello on the danger of denying the constituency the speakership of 7th Assembly.
In a press statement signed by the Chairman of the group Hon. Isah Abdullahi and made available to newsmen in Lokoja,the statement added that any attempt to denied Lokoja / Koto speaker would spelt doom to the party.
Part of the statement read;” we are not against our brothers from the other side,what we demand is justice must be done,because any attempt to denied us speakership position,we’ll no hesitate to revolt against the party come 16th November 2019 governorship election.
” It could recall that during the last elections we delivered to the APC,the people of Lokoja/ Kogi Local Government Areas need to be rewarded for their loyalty to the party and it leadership
If the party failed to response to our demand they should forget November 16 Governorship election we cannot continued to be subservient to others while we have the highest number of votes.
“Presently out of the seven local government areas in the senatorial District only Lokoja and Kogi local government areas are left behind in term of political appointment.
“The Okuns presently holds both speaker,Commissioners of finance, Agriculture and the Secretary to the State Government position while Lokoja and Kogi Local Government areas that delivered for APC in all elections is been neglected ” the statement concluded.
