The Kogi State Chairman of Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN), Dr Lawal Muhammad has commended the Vice Chancellor of Federal University Lokoja, Professor Olayemi Akinwumi for establishing College of Medicine in the instituion.
He made the commendation when the executive members of the Union paid a courtesy call on the Vice Chancellor of the university.
He noted that they acknowledge the rapid pace at which the university is transforming, adding that they are confident that as the son of soil, he will take this institution to the Zenith of excellence as this has become evident in his bold step towards establishing school of Medicine and Engineering.
“I know that other medically related courses like Pharmacy, Nursing, Medical Laboratory Sciences will follow suit as this will go a long way in reducing the suffering of our sons and daughters seeking for admission for these courses in other institutions.
“We appeal that you use your good office to improve in the number of pharmacist at the university sick bay, this will provide a good platform and an enabling environment for efficient pharmaceutical care services and optimised patient care outcomes.
“PSN, Kogi Chapter is assuring you of our support to achieving your set goals especially the vision to make sure the institution is leading the 9 universities established by Federal government in 2011 and to make sure FUL is among the 10 foremost universities in Africa. We look forward to a more inclusive administration”.
