Some armed gunmen on Monday went on rampaged in Lokoja the state capital of Kogi state shooting sporadically.
The Kogi state Sun newspaper correspondent Mr. Emmanuel Adeyemi was shot during the sporadic shooting.
Adeyemi was on his way to the Secretariat of Nigerian Union of Journalist from his house when he was shot by the armed men.
He is currently in an admission in one of the private hospital in Lokoja.
Meanwhile, the police public relations officer William Aya said that the gunshots were from hoodlums who were scaring people away to enable them has free access to their looting activities.
He said that the shootings were not from the Police adding that they were being trailed and would be brought to book shortly.
