Despite its historical importance and present status as Kogi State Capital, Lokoja continues to groan under criminal neglect and marginalisation in the State.
We are conscious of the conspiracy that eased out Rt. Hon. Umar Imam and the continued gang-up that has kept our representatives in the Assembly inactive.
The violence that marred the last Governorship election in State and the refusal of INEC to put two political parties on the ballot despite clear pronouncements of two Courts have made rerun inevitable.
What this means is that, there will be a rerun election of the governorship and the certainty of the sacking of the present government in the State. Our concern is that those responsible for our pains in Lokoja might likely reap immensely for the three months during which the Speaker will act as Governor.
We have two Distinguished representatives in Lokoja;  who can turn around the fortunes of Lokoja for good.
That the present Speaker, Rr. Hon. Matthew Kolawole is too loyal to the Governor to expect any meaningful thing for Lokoja from him is undeniable.
We insist for equity and fairness, that either of our representatives; Hon. Ndako Idris and Hon. Umar Tenimu be considered for the position of Speaker.
Until the needful is done, our agitation will remain. The present Speaker, Rt. Hon. Matthew Kolawole is a stooge of the Governor which has resulted in the pitiable situation of Honorable Members in terms of welfare.
No effort will be spared until our aspiration is achieved.
Enough is enough.
