After Sofiat Kehinde was reported to have been beheaded by a group of boys not older than twenty, a family member spoke with the press about the deceased and how she was cautioned not to go into any relationship with Mustekeem, the boyfriend who led those who murdered her.
The aunt to the deceased said, “we warned the beheaded (Sofiat) girl to stop dating the boy who matcheted and roasted her head for money ritual but she kept dating him secretly.”
According to the Aunt, the deceased left home without informing her siblings of her whereabout. Unfortunately for her, the boyfriend she went to meet was already planning her execution. The aunt narrated that she first phoned the deceased shortly after leaving her residence and she picked saying, “she will be back home shortly.” After some time, she was nowhere to be found.
When reports from the community got to the Aunt that someone’s head had been cut off for money ritual, she quickly took a picture of Sofiat Kehinde to the nearest Police station. While there, the sad news of her demise was broken and as we speak, the family is seeking justice for their deceased young daughter.
According to the family member, Sofiat Kehinde was learning tailoring at a shop very close to the house but her dream of becoming great has been cut short by greedy boys under the age of twenty.
