No fewer than 14 additional pastors have been ordained by the United Christian Gospel Church with a charge to live above board in their service in the vineyard of the Lord.
The General Overseer of the church, Rev. Bernard Abuje, gave the charge at the 2025 convention of the church at Ejule-Ojebe in Ibaji local government area headquarters of the church in Kogi State.
Rev. Abuje congratulated the newly ordained pastors, stating that they are special and that a special anointing will come upon them. He emphasized the importance of living a life that is pleasing to God and warned against joking with God.
He also charged the pastors to respect and honor their families, who have supported them in their journey to ordination.
The General Overseer also highlighted the church’s mission and objectives, which include preaching the gospel of peace and deliverance, engaging in mission work, and establishing churches. He noted that the church approaches the appointment of pastors with care, placing them under probation for not less than five years before ordination.
The newly ordained pastors took an oath of allegiance, declaring their commitment to the ministry and their faith in the word of God. They also reaffirmed their declaration to uphold the witness of the Holy Scriptures, accept the church order and government, and submit to ecclesiastical discipline.
The international guest speaker from Tanzania, Bishop Dr. Daniel Ouma, delivered a sermon, saying:
“God said He is going to stand with you. This scripture shows that every appointment or every election was concluded by consecrated prayers and leadership with responsibility. Something we call constitutional authority. And this is why we let that speak so much ahead of us. And to do so, then the appointment was allowed to go into their duties.
“Now after I shall have preached this word of God, you shall be confirmed now to go and operate on responsibility duties. And therefore, let’s say, It is good for every leader to understand the importance of this biblical commission. By the laying on of hands we have done. Baba has called it an international laying of hands and this being the first It’s a national laying of hands. We open gates and open doors.
“A short speech was given, you know, on the ethics of church leaders. And these staff carried warnings against adultery. The most wanted thing was adultery. And the next one is pride in money. to be. Emphasizing your life as well.
“I believe God is going to open ways for you. God is going to do it as we speak now. I’m not a kid, I’m not a kid, I’m not a kid, I’m not a kid. By the lame of heads of these people standing before you. And before he lets you go, everyone is going to stand in respect of what we have done today. We are going to put our hands on you. And then you are going out in fire. In the name of Jesus.
“You are ship keepers now! Well, it’s not that bad, it’s just that it’s bad. God is separating you with the rest who can be sheep keepers. Like David who was a ship keeper And for suddenly God gave him I don’t care what it is. another promotion to be a human keeper in the same same manner In the same time! Oh! sheep keeping, he was doing human being keeping. He was promoted. I don’t know why- keep hats on people. And you are promoted. from today to keep the hats. of people wherever you are going to be seen.
“Arise from this day and move in the power of God. Arise from this day. I see- You’re notarizing Mekwane, no! You’re notarizing Mekwane! Arise from today! Mekwane Nini! Arise from today! That’s what we need! Soon you will be anointed after the Holy Spirit has moved in your life. I’m not going to let you do anything to me. In the minutes of your brethren. Hey, hey, dude! I’m on my own, man. Keep on shaking. In the minutes of the… Like.
