Tinubu May Dump Buhari for Atiku.

Following the ugly incident which took place during the presidential campaign rally in Ogun State, Kogi Flame authoritatively gathered that the former governor of Lagos State, Senator Ahmed Bola Tinubu may dump President Muhammadu Buhari for the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Alhaji Abubakar Atiku.
The former Lagos State governor was visibly annoyed at how things turn out during the rally in Ogun State where hostile supporters, who were obviously loyal to the governor of the state pelted members of the party with stones and other objects during the rally as they openly disagree with the fact that the governor was not allowed to have his way as it regards to the APC candidate for the governorship election in the state.
The governor of the state, Ibikunle Amosun, was later forced to move his candidate to the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), however, Amosun himself remained with the APC, indeed, he is contesting for a place at the Senate in the general election under the banner of the APC.
The Governor, however, vowed to work against the party except in the Presidential elections where he promised to do all in his power to see that President Buhari not only win the state but also emerged as the winner of the election.
Buhari seems to buy into this idea as evident in his speech where he told his supporters to vote their choice in other elections but votes for him exclusively in the presidential elections.
This is believed to have angered Tinubu who stormed out of the arena just has Buhari was giving his speech, Tinubu, who incidentally is also the co-chairman of the Buhari campaign organisation, is said to be considering his options following the event.
Reports suggest that the third republic senator is now considering working for Atiku, whom it is said he enjoyed a good working relationship with and both men are considered as political allies despite pursuing different agenda at the moment.
This will be at odds with what Tinubu had stated about Atiku earlier in the year where he took the former Vice President to task regarding his view on the suspended Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Walter Onnoghen. In a letter made public, Tinubu said:
“The PDP’s presidential candidate, former Vice President Atiku, recently made comments regarding the suspension of CJN Onnoghen. Atiku’s release is entitled “State of the nation address”. I encourage everyone to read it. In its disregard for the truth and patent misrepresentations, it will go down in political history as a classic of self-incrimination. Atiku thinks the piece exalts him. Instead, it evinces his penchant for wilful misstatement that makes him unfit for the office he now seeks and has always coveted.”
However, Tinubu has dismissed such claims stating that though he was disappointed with the way things turned out in Ogun State and confirming that he did leave the venue of the campaign early, he insists that he has no plan to quit the party.
In a statement made available to reporters by his Special Adviser, Media, Tunde Rahman, the former governor blamed the opposition for blowing the incident out of proportion. Tinubu said:
“As the National Leader, Asiwaju Tinubu is thoroughly faithful and committed to the APC. It is unthinkable that he would leave the party. Moreover, there is no reason for him to do so. He has been hard at work for the victory of the APC and all of its candidates in the upcoming election.
“Asiwaju understands the bigger picture. He knows what is at stake in this election. Either the nation moves forward along the progressive path of the APC or it will be forced to retreat into the ills of the past created by the PDP.
“With the nation’s future hanging in the balance, Asiwaju will not allow himself to be deterred by petty mischief.
“Those spinning this matter should make better use of their imaginations. Asiwaju is not going anywhere. He remains gidigba (solid) in APC.
“And after the election, he will be there celebrating the APC’s and this nation’s victory over those who would prevent us our rightful future.
“With but a few precious days until the election and with its chance of victory running out even faster than the time, the Peoples Democratic Party now grasps at the most nonsensical and desperate tactics to salvage its falling enterprise.
“However, a drowning man cannot toss himself a lifeline. Nor can the PDP succeed in turning the innocuous attempted exchange of a flag between the National Leader and National Chairman into a rift in the APC’s successful campaign.
“An incident did actually occur at the Ogun State APC rally but it is not the one PDP has concocted.
“The true incident that should be reported and condemned is that people who furtively oppose the party and the president tried to infiltrate and disrupt this rally.
“The attack by these operatives was disrespectful of the office of the president and could have potentially harmed the person of the president.
