THE Apostolic Church Nigeria Ganaja Assembly Lokoja Kogi State on Sunday held its 15th anniversary spiritual service of songs to seek the face of God concerning the forthcoming election in Kogi State slated for 16th November 2019.
The congregation sang songs of praises to God and prayed for peaceful and non-violent exercise.
The clergy in charge of the church Pastor Joshua Ibitomi told newsmen on Sunday that, this year event is unique as the people will decide who will govern them in another four years.
While recalling some bitter experience of the people during the last general election, Pastor Ibitomi said the church has continued to fast and pray for a violent free election in Kogi State.
According to him, the manipulation of the evils ones shall not prevail in the State, stressing that, God will liberate the people from those who intends to cause havoc before, during and after the gubernatorial polls.
The clergy stressed further that, Kogites should come together and see themselves as one, irrespective of their political, ethnic or religious difference adding that, leaders across the state should continue to talk to their wards on the need to achieve a peaceful polls.
Pastor Ibitomi urged members to pray against violence, bloodshed and for the will of God over Kogi State.
“We are here praising God and seeking for his mercy for our State Kogi as we approach the governorship election in November. We don’t want bloodshed, but rather we want peace before, during and after the polls. Let us all join hands and lift our voices in praises. Irrespective our affiliations, we should stand up and pray for a better Kogi as the prepare to elect their leaders through the polls” he stated.
