The Kogi State Governor Alhaji Yahaya Bello, has commended the Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC) for an improvement on its arrangements as against the hitches recorded in the last presidential election. .
The governor who stated this on Saturday after casting his vote at his polling unit in Agassa – Ahache Okene – Eba ward said report reaching him indicated that the polls opened as scheduled across the state .
The governor who arrived his polling unit at 8:30 am insisted on joining the queueing with two of his wives, Hajia Amina and Rashida and finally casted his vote at about 8:44am
Investigation also revealed that materials arrived early at the polling units across the state, though turnout for this election was generally low.
The enthusiasm shown during the Presidential election was however absent in this election. The governorship election is not holding in Kogi.
As at the time of filling this report, election was general peaceful across the state.
