In politics, electoral mandates are sustained not merely by victory at the polls but by the confidence, trust, and continued support of the people.

In Kogi West Senatorial District, Senator Sunday Steve Karimi has continued to demonstrate why the mandate freely given to him by the electorate remains firm, secure, and untouchable.

Since his emergence as Senator representing Kogi West in 2023, Karimi has maintained a visible presence in both legislative duties and constituency engagement. His commitment to effective representation has earned him recognition among constituents who see him as a bridge between the people and the federal government.

He has consistently emphasized the need for development, security, and economic empowerment across the seven local government areas that make up Kogi West.
One of the major factors strengthening his political standing is his focus on infrastructure and community development.

Reports indicate that numerous projects, including transformers, solar-powered streetlights, water schemes, educational support programmes, and community interventions, have been facilitated under his representation. These initiatives have directly impacted communities across the senatorial district and reinforced public confidence in his leadership.
Security has also remained a key priority for the senator.

In response to security concerns affecting parts of Kogi West, Karimi took the unusual step of facilitating and funding the construction of a military operating base in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area, which was later handed over to the Nigerian Army. The initiative has been widely acknowledged as a significant contribution to strengthening security architecture in the region.

Beyond constituency projects, Senator Karimi has established himself as an active participant in legislative affairs. He has sponsored bills, moved motions on issues of national importance, and advocated policies aimed at improving the welfare of Nigerians.

His role in supporting initiatives such as student loan legislation and regional development commissions reflects a commitment to governance beyond partisan politics.

Politically, Karimi has remained loyal to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and aligned with the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, former Governor Yahaya Bello, and Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo.

His consistent message has been one of unity, stability, and support for progressive governance, a stance that has strengthened his acceptance within the party structure and among stakeholders.

While political contests and disagreements are natural features of democracy, attempts to undermine Senator Karimi’s position have repeatedly encountered resistance from supporters who point to his performance and accessibility.

Across Kogi West, many constituents believe that the senator’s achievements, grassroots connection, and commitment to development have solidified the mandate entrusted to him.

Ultimately, political mandates are protected not by rhetoric but by results. Senator Sunday Steve Karimi’s growing record of legislative engagement, constituency development, security interventions, and party loyalty continues to reinforce the confidence reposed in him by the people of Kogi West.

As the political landscape gradually shifts toward future electoral contests, one message appears increasingly clear among his supporters: Senator Karimi’s mandate remains firmly rooted in the will of the people and is, indeed, untouchable.
