THE Director General, BELLO/ONOJA campaign, Senator Smart Adeyemi may likely dump his position as Campaign DG in the November 16 Governorship election.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has fixed November 16 for the Kogi west senatorial election between him and Senator Dino Melaye.
Sources close to Lugard House disclosed to Nigerian Tribune on Tuesday said Adeyemi is expected to meet with Governor Yahaya Bello to inform him of his intention to withdraw from his appointment as the DG of the campaign, following yesterday press statement issued by INEC to run his senatorial election concurrently with the governorship election slated for 16th of November.
According to source there is need for him to face his election and as such might not be able to act in that capacity any longer adding that the senatorial election is like a battle of the Gilbrotar.
Smart Adeyemi was said to have been holding series of meetings with his supporters and have been advised to meet other critical stakeholders so that he can face his own election.
Meanwhile Senator Smart Adeyemi has kept mute since INEC came up with the timetable for the Kogi west senatorial election.
