Two suspected ritualists in Kwara State have been arrested by the Police for allegedly killing a 16 years old girl, Rihanat Yusuf, who was sent on an errand by the parents.
The incident, which happened in the Amuyo area, Offa Local Government Area has thrown the community into a shock.
Her dismembered body, with her head and two hands missing, was reportedly discovered at an uncompleted building in the area.
The deceased, it was gathered, left home Tuesday last week to get groundnut cake (Kuli Kuli) to have Garri for lunch when she went missing.
After combing the community without her trace, the distraught father, Yusuf Taofeeq, reported the case at the Offa Divisional Police headquarters which prompted a police investigation.
Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer, Kwara Command, Ajayi Okasanmi, said two of the suspects have been arrested and they have confessed to the crime.
“In the cause of investigation, one Femi Adeniji of the same area was arrested and he confessed to being in possession of the head and hands of the deceased.
“He confessed further that he had sold one of the hands to his accomplice who is presently at large for the sum of N20,000.
“The other arrested suspect, Shittu Abdulmalik, also confessed to have used the second hand of the deceased for money-making soap,” the police spokesman said.
He, however, said an investigation was still ongoing and the suspects would be charged to court at the conclusion of the investigation.
