A G-Wagon on the campaign trail of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) on Saturday ram into a business container killing all four occupants in Idah.
This is the second time in two weeks,as similar incident occurred when two people were killed along Ankpa/Ayingba road.
The incident was said to have occurred in Idah the ancestral headquarter of Igala kingdom. The G-Wagon was said to be a back up car to the candidate ,Engineer Musa Wada.
The Chief Administrator of Idah Local Government Chief Hilary Edime Amodu who confirmed the incident however frowned at the recklessness of drivers on campaign trail.
A statement issued late Saturday night by Idachaba Muhammed Media Aide to the Administrator stated that the accident happened Saturday afternoon .
It was said to involved a Mercedes G-WAGON belonging to one of the Governorship Candidate In Kogi State which ran into a business container at Igala-Ogba, Idah, Opposite Idakwo Park, killing all the Occupants of the Container.
It was however gathered that the driver of the G-WAGON And It’s Occupants Are In Critical Condition at an undisclosed hospital .
An eye witness account who does not want his name in print said that the presence of men of security joint taskforce prevented the driver of the G-Wagon from being linched.
“Luckily for the driver, men of security task force ran to the scene of to the accident and rescued the driver from angry mob who would have linched him
The Administrator was quoted as saying that “this kind of reckless driving that has been going on in Idah all in the name of political rally by the PDP supporters is no longer going to be entertained”.
“As the Chief Security Officer of Idah Local Government the Security and safety of his people comes first before any other thing and that the Security operatives will deal with any reckless driver if caught”. He stated
He prayed for Gods protection and for the families the fortitude to bear the loses.
Efforts to get the police reaction was not successful as at the time of filling this report as calls to the state police commissioner rang out.
Similar calls to the PDP state publicity Secretary,Bode Ogunmola also rang out just as calls to the publicity Secretary of Musa/Aro campaign organisation, Faruk Adejo did not connect.
He has also yet to respond to a WhatsApp message sent to him as at the time of filing this report
