THE Oworo yoruba speaking of Lokoja Local Government in Kogi State said that they will not allow their original history to be tampered with through biased and unpopular legal process.
This assurance was contained in a statement issued in Lokoja on Sunday by the Oworo Development Association (ODA), a socio-cultural group of the Oworo people.
The group which was reacting to the recent decision of a Federal High Court sitting in Lokoja, ceding Ajaokuta, Lokoja and Kogi local governments to Igala kingdom assured that the decision will not go unchallenged at the upper court.
Chief Umar Adoga and Mr Sulaiman Abdulahi, the President and Secretary of ODA signed the statement which also urged the Federal , state and the local governments concerned to take urgent steps to prevent the development from degenerating to crisis.
The association appealed to the people to remain calm and go about their lawful activities, promising that necessary steps were being taken to resolve the matter.
