The Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo had expressed serious objection to the adoption of a Muslim-Muslim ticket by the ruling party
According to source within the presidency, disclosed that Osinbajo had expressed serious objection to the adoption of a Muslim-Muslim ticket which has set the former Lagos State Governor on, Asiwaju Tinubu on a collision course with Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, who was said to have warned that such an adoption would not portend well both for the party and the country.
According to the source, the Vice President believes that the fairness and justice of a balanced ticket are sacrosanct, while the argument that merit should be considered above a Muslim-Christian balance presents a false choice. You can get all the merit you want in a balanced ticket.
Therefore, anything short of a balanced ticket creates unnecessary tension and further aggravates some parts of the country while a balanced ticket certainly portrays inclusiveness.
