The contractor handling the Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano Gas (AKK) pipeline project, OilServe limited last week distributed rams to traditional rulers across Ajaokuta Lokoja Local Government Area for Eid-el-Kabir celebrations.
Our reporter gathered that the gesture was part of the company’s cooperate Social responsibility to the host communities.
Recalled that President Muhammodu Buhari, on Tuesday 14 July, 2020, flagged off the commencement of work on the AKK project with an assurance that the project with succeed.
President Buhari also affirmed the Nigerian government’s commitment to ensure timely delivery of the landmark project within budgetary allocation and specifications.
Speaking at the virtual flag-off ceremony of the project at the Ajaokuta, Kogi State and Rigachikun, Kaduna State camp sites simultaneously, President Buhari said the project was very dear to the people of Nigeria and must succeed.
The President, therefore, directed the NNPC and partners to remain focused, noting that the AKK project is part of the delivery of the present administration’s Next Level Agenda for sustainable development, enhancement of economic prosperity and increase of the country’s infrastructure assets.
In line with president Buhari’s desire for the success of the project, the contractor handling the project, OilServe has since moved too site and had also out sourced it’s workers from the communities.
OilServe, in it’s tradition of working closely with the host communities, it was gathered also that the company has been interacting with leaders and traditional rulers in the area.
A top official of the company, told our reporter in confidence that the management has visited traditional rulers in the area, to ensure a very smooth operation and timely delivery of the project in line with president Muhammodu Buhari’s directive.
According to him, the Sallah ram distribution was one of such gesture to ensure cordial relationship with leaders and people of the host communities.
