President of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Comrade Babangida Onimisi Isah, has applauded the Director-General of the Energy Commission of Nigeria (ECN), Dr. Mustapha Abdullahi for his visionary and youth-friendly policies since assuming office.

The NYCN leader said Dr. Abdullahi has, within a short period, demonstrated uncommon competence, innovation and commitment to national development, particularly in repositioning the Energy Commission of Nigeria as a strategic institution aligned with Nigeria’s energy transition and sustainable development goals.

The youth council leader noted that Dr. Abdullahi’s inclusive leadership style, openness to youth engagement, and emphasis on research, innovation and renewable energy clearly reflect a deep understanding of the aspirations of young Nigerians.

Babangida also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing a round peg in a round hole as the ECN DG’s appointment stands as a testament to Mr. President’s resolve to entrust critical national institutions to capable, forward-thinking and results-driven Nigerians under the Renewed Hope Agenda.

In Babangida’s words, “Dr. Mustapha Abdullahi represents the new generation of young Nigerian technocrats who are not only globally competitive but also deeply committed to national service. He is a shining example of youth excellence in governance and a worthy ambassador of the Renewed Hope Initiative, especially in the strategic energy sector that is critical to Nigeria’s economic growth, industrialization, empowerment and job creation for young people.

“The NYCN firmly believes that Dr. Abdullahi’s capacity, vision and performance qualify him for even greater national responsibilities, particularly in advancing the objectives of the Renewed Hope Agenda and driving youth-inclusive policies in energy, innovation and sustainable development.

“We wish to clearly state that Nigerian youths are solidly and unreservedly behind Dr. Mustapha Abdullahi. We reaffirm our confidence in his leadership and pledge our continued support and partnership as he works to build a resilient, sustainable and youth-driven energy future for Nigeria.

“Once again, we applaud Mr. President for this inspired appointment and encourage Dr. Abdullahi to remain steadfast in his service to the nation,” he concluded.
