Former Governor of Kogi state, Alhaji Yahaya Bello says that his recent ordeal has strengthened his resolves in politics, promising to uphold his role as a leader for the people of the state.
He made this known when the Deputy Governor, Comrade Joel Salifu, led a delegation of political office holders from Kogi East on a New Year visit to his residence at Okene.
He cautioned against division along ethnic and religious lines, emphasizing that unity is vital for progress and prosperity.
According to him he has been vindicated by his choice of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo as his successor.
Bello, who expressed satisfaction and fulfillment with the choice and performance of the Governor also expressed confidence in the administration.
Bello therefore assured that he would remain attentive and offer guidance when needed.
Responding, the Deputy Governor, Comrade Joel Salifu maintained that the visit was to extend a warm welcome to the former Governor and to congratulate him on the New Year.
Comrade Salifu acknowledged that his recent challenges and experiences were in the best interest of the state and commended him for his selfless dedication and for leaving behind a legacy of good governance.
He encouraged the former Governor to continue to remain at ease and courageous, offering prayers for his continued well-being and longevity.
