Kogi Speaker hails Appeal Court Judgment, Congratulates Senator Smart Adeyemi

Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Prince Matthew Kolawole has commended the Appeal Court’s decision to uphold the early judgement of the Election Tribunal nullifying the election of Senator Dino Melaye as senator and ordered a fresh election in the senatorial district.
The Speaker in a press statement described the judgement as a true reflection of what transpired at the poll, noting that APC is much more on ground to coast to victory in any election.
He said the judgment has further rekindled the hope of the masses in the judiciary, stressing that the jurists have been able to live above board to deliver an outstanding judgment in favour of the people.
The Speaker congratulated Senator Smart Adeyemi, CON for his tenacity to follow through the legal process that gave the APC family the well deserved victory.
He said the legal victory has provided another opportunity for the APC to reclaim its mandate by electing someone that can truly provide the representation needed for the people of Kogi West Senatorial District at the National Assembly.
The Speaker also felicitated with Governor Yahaya Bello and the APC family in the state, describing the decision of the jurists as a welcome development to uphold the tenets of democracy in the country.
He called on all APC members in the state to prepare and get back to work for the party to have an overwhelming victory anytime the election is called.
