The Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. (Prince) Matthew Kolawole has congratulated His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, the Executive Governor of Kogi State on his conferment with the prestigious Nigeria National Honours Award of Commander of the Order of the Niger, CON and described it as a well deserved honor.
The Speaker disclosed this in a press statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Olugbemi Femi and made available to newsmen in Lokoja.
According to the statement, the Speaker said the honour is a confirmation of his painstakingly yet deliberate efforts that have repositioned Kogi State to be one of the best states among comity of states in the country, stressing that his recognition has shut the mouths of his critics.
He said Governor Yahaya Bello’s performance in the last seven and half years is monumental hence the national award is a testimony of his hard work and contributions to the overall development of not only Kogi state but the nation at large and humanity.
He commended the President Muhammadu Buhari led administration for recognizing those who have worked tirelessly for the good of the land, stressing that Governor Yahaya Bello has proven to be a genuine leader that wants the best for his people especially in security and other critical sectors of the state economy.
