The people of Aluaja Community in Iyano, Ibaji Local Government Area, has called on Kogi Government to release the white paper of the panel of inquiry into Iyano crisis, led by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr Folashade Ayoade.
A communal clash between Aluaja community and Abujaga, Iru, tagged: ”Iyano crisis”, generated much heat among the warring communities leading to loss of lives and properties worth millions of naira on May 24, 2015.
In a statement signed by Chief Benjamin Akoji, the Onu of Aluaja, Ibaji LGA, said the call for the release of the report was to permanently resolve the lingering crisis.
Akoji urged the state government to release the report of the panel, saying it was long overdue.
The monarch decried the pitiable state of the people stressing the need for the state government to come their plight.
According to him, in spite the return of the people to their ancestral home, they have not been able to carry out their normal activities such as farming and fishing, which remain their source of livelihood.
He noted that the alleged continuous threat by the Iru and Abujaga was a great concerned to them, stressing that it might result to another round of crisis in the community if not urgently resolved.
The monarch appealed to Gov. Yahaya Bello to provide the people of Aluaja, who lost their houses during the crisis with an intervention funds to enable them rebuild their houses.
