In a bid to ensure that the forthcoming Kogi gubernatorial election is conducted with all transparency and credibility, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has screened some of the aspirants vying for the party’s ticket in the forthcoming election.
One of the aspirants who successfully scaled through the screening exercise, awaiting the result, is Pharmacist Abdukareem Jamiyu Asuku.
Pharmacist Asuku, a renowned politician and a respected member of the APC in Kogi state, was screened successfully on Saturday, 25rd March 2023. The screening exercise, which took place at Ladi Kwali, Sharaton Hotel, Abuja, was supervised by the APC Screening Committee, led by the Committee Chairman.
The screening exercise, which lasted for few hours, saw the aspirant answering various questions on his political antecedents, his vision for Kogi state, and his plans for the development of the state if elected as the governor.
Asuku, in his usual articulate and confident manner, answered all the questions put to him by the screening committee satisfactorily, leaving no doubt in the minds of the committee members about his capability to govern Kogi state.
Speaking after the exercise, the chairman of the screening committee, expressed satisfaction with the performance of all the aspirants, including Pharmacist Asuku, whom he described as a worthy contender.
He commended the aspirants for their courage and commitment to the party, and urged them to continue to work together for the success of the party in the forthcoming election.
Reacting to his successful screening, the former Chief of Staff to governor Yahaya Bello, expressed gratitude to the APC Screening Committee for giving him the opportunity to be part of the exercise.
He described the screening process as transparent and credible, adding that it was a testament to the party’s commitment to ensuring a level playing field for all aspirants. He thanked his supporters and well-wishers for their prayers and support, and pledged to continue to work for the development of Kogi state if elected as the governor.
The Kogi gubernatorial election is expected to hold on November 11th, 2023, and the APC, which is currently the ruling party in the state, is determined to retain power by presenting a credible and competent candidate that will win the hearts of the people.
With the successful screening of Pharmacist Asuku, awaiting the outcome of the screening, the party has taken a giant step towards achieving its goal of retaining power in the state.
