All the newly elected members of the All Progressive Congress (APC) federal and state lawmakers have endorsed Governor Yahaya Bello for second term.
The Forum of lawmakers made this pronouncement in Lokoja during a press briefing attended by two senators, seven House of Representatives members and 25 Kogi state lawmakers select.
According to the lawmakers Alhaji Yahaya Bello has achieved a lot in the area of security, education, infrastructure development, civil service reforms and human capital development and therefore deserves to come back.
They promised to purchase the Gubernatorial Nomination and Expression of interest form of APC for the governor.
”We have also resolved to commence work toward his reelection bid at our various constituencies to meet with stakeholders like party leaders, traditional rules, youths and women groups, opinion molders etc, to spread the gospel of GYB to them,” they stated.
They assured President Buhari and APC National Chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole that Governor Yahaya Bello will deliver Kogi for the party again, when given the ticket.
They urged APC leadership to disregard disgruntled politicians trying to destabilize the party in Kogi, saying ”They are spoilers enlisted to do the dirty deeds of the opponents of the party and must be ignored for our continued progress.’
We insist that our party procedures, due process and the rule of law must be the only considerations on how our flag-bearer for November 2019 Governorship Election.
