A former Commissioner for information in Kogi state and a chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Dr. Tom Ohikere said the past records, Competencies and God fearing disposition of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu have endeared him to the voters which will make him to win convincingly at the polls.
This is just as he has vowed to ensure that the western zone of Kogi state produce the next Governor of the state.
He said any stakeholders working against the actualisation of the west Senatorial District producing the next Governor may not live to tell the story.
Dr. Tom Ohikere who is also the Chief Promoter of BATIFIED Roundtable and Executive Director of Good Governance Campaign of Tinubu/Shetima Independent Grassroots Campaign Council gave the Assurance on the sidelines of the APC rally in Lokoja, the state capital.
Ohikere noted that he was overwhelmed by the massive turn out of the electorate at the rally saying it was a testimony that the state is in the firm grips of the party .
He said the issue of mandatory 25% would not arise in Kogi state, insisting that the state, if not hundred percent, it will deliver over 75% votes to the APC in the February 25, 2023 presidential and National Assembly elections.
According to him, the Capacity, competence, and God fearing attitude of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has become his electoral fortune that will beat silly any candidate any day.
He added that his prodigy in Lagos and as a mentor to many people has given him confidence to stake his neck for his success at the poll, stressing that the whole people from the East, Central and West zones of the state are united to ensure his total victory.
He added that the APC is a sellable brand as its rule in the last seven years has been superlative, erasing the appellation of abandon projects and has completed live enhancement projects across the country.
According to him, the APC government completed Itakpe- Warri rail project started by the Shagari Administration, which were hitherto labelled as white elephant projects by the past government.
He said with the assurance from INEC to conduct free, fair and credible elections, the APC is more than prepared to win the election.
On the power rotation in Kogi state, the fiery politician said, anything short of the western Senatorial District of the state producing the next Governor would be vehemently resisted.
” The next Kogi governor must as a matter of fact comes from Kogi west. Any how, they produce it, be it from Yagba, Kabba, or Lokoja/ Kotonkarfe,we will work with them.
To be fair, the Igalas had spent 16 years, the Ebiras is about finishing her 8years. So power must go to the west.
” As a philosophy, I and like-minds will do everything humanly , legitimately possible, to making sure the next Governor comes from the west, even the present governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, some of us were key to his emergence. I was a key player in his election. I Tom Ohikere was important to his election.
” The people of Kogi state have suffered so much that their brains are functioning well now. They used to have poor mindsets , I have been interacting with the people in the course of this rally and I discovered that our people have grown mentally and politically. They now know how to do what is right . The truth must be told that it is the turn of the west. I’m in full support of their political struggle.
” We will fight for it , I’m a fighter and you know it is in my blood. I was the spokesman of the Prince Abubakar Audu , Alhaji Ibrahim Idris government and even governor Yahaya Bello.
“There is what we call political engineering , we will engineer the process , we are on it already and that is why I’m bold to talk of it. It is either Kogi west or never.” Ohikere declared.
He averred that the problem with the country for not been able to maximize its potential was the manifestation of accumulated errors of the past, stressing that unless there is conscious effort to bridge the gap between the people and government, the country will continue to live in circles.
While blaming the past administrations for their lack of vision to inspire the citizenry for nation”s growth, urged electorate to vote enmass for Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Shetima to change the narrative.
He assured that the candidate of APC has the capacity and capability to turn the country around as he has been adjudged to be a selfless and a detribalised leader.
