The Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Aliyu Umar Yusuf has attended the birthday ceremony of his Deputy, Rt Hon Comfort Ojoma Nwuchiola Egwaba.
A Press statement signed and made available to journalists in Lokoja by the Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker, Yabagi Mohammed said the occasion took place on Friday in Lokoja and was attended by other members of the Assembly and their spouses.
The statement recorded the speaker to have eulogised the personality of the Deputy Speaker in his speech, describing her as the mother of the entire members and a dependable ally.
He noted that as his deputy, he has so much confidence in her that he is always marveled at the way she handles many legislative issues in the house and her sense of maturity and concern for the unity of members.
Rt Hon Umar stressed that Ibaji is lucky to have Rt Hon Nwuchiola as the member representing them at the moment because of her show of passion for the development of Ibaji land.
The Speaker also said her efforts are resulting in positive development for the area because Ibaji land has started witnessing government presence, particularly their cry for motor-able road to convey goods, services and people to and from the local government.
He therefore urged them to rally round the deputy speaker, who is not keeping quiet on matters that affect her people and the State.
The Speaker particularly praised her passion for issues that affect women in the state and the country, and applauded her for the passion and brilliance she displayed during the recent constitutional review conference in Abuja.
Speaking, other members also praised the deputy speaker for the manner she has conducted herself and the motherly love she brings to the entire Assembly.
Highlights of the occasion was the commissioning of the official residence of the deputy speaker among other interesting attractions.
