As countdown to November 16th Governorship election begins, the Kogi State House of Assembly Service Commission, has organized an inter-faith prayer session for the victory of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Flag Bearer Alhaji Yahaya Bello in the forthcoming election.
The inter-faith prayer which was held at the Kogi State House of Assembly Mosque and House of Assembly Christian Fellowship Church Lokoja, witnessed the presence of both Muslim and Christian Faithful who engaged in intensive and heartfelt prayers for the victory of the State Governor in the forthcoming election.
Ustaz Abdulrahman Danladi and Imam Buseri Usman, who led the Muslim Faithful prayed for Allah’s protection for the State Governor and his family and enjoined Muslims in the State to intensify more in their supplications to Allah at this critical period in the state.
Ustaz Abdulrahman Danladi who described the State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello as a man of destiny said that Allah brought him as the State Governor to fulfill a divine purpose and on a divine assignment for the growth and development of the State.
According to him, the first tenure of Alhaji Yahaya Bello has witnessed peace and tranquility and therefore needs another term to consolidate on this feat and called on the people of the state to vote en-masse for him in the forthcoming election.
In his prayer, Pastor Umar Moses, the Chaplain in charge of Kogi State House of Assembly Christians Fellowship prayed to God for a peaceful election adding that he has no doubt about the victory of the State Governor and called on Christians in the State to come out and vote for him.
Pastor Umar Moses stated that the State Governor has demonstrated his love for Christians in the State by his assistance and support to churches and advancement and growth of God’s kingdom by being the first State Governor to build a place of worship at the Government House.
In his remark, the Chairman of Kogi State Assembly Service Commission Alhaji Malik thanked them for heeding to his request in organizing an inter-faith prayer session for the victory of Alhaji Yahaya Bello in the forthcoming Governorship election.
He commended the State Governor for his love for the legislative arm of the government, good governance and his leadership quality pointing out that the Governor by signing the Bill establishing the Kogi State Assembly Service Commission has further made the third arm of government a pride and core of democracy in the State.
Alhaji Andas prayed God to grant the All Progressives Flag Bearer Alhaji Yahaya Bello victory at the poll and grant him wisdom and good sound health in piloting the affairs of the State.
The Chairman stated that the prayer was organized to reciprocate the love and confidence the State Governor repost in the commission pointing out that it is on record that the Governor made his public announcement to contest for a second term in office at the inauguration of members of the Commission on April 17th, 2018.
Permanent members of the Commission who witnessed the prayer session include Hon. Arome Adoji, Hon. Salisu Bala and Hon. Abdul Ahmed, and the Secretary of the Commission Comrade Yemisi Maiye. Others in attendance include the Director General Bureau for Information and Mobilization Alhaji Abdulkareem Abdulmalik, Director General Radio Kogi Alhaji Ojo Ohiza Ozovehe, Hon. Abdullahi Bello majority leader Kogi State House of Assembly, Hon. Alhaji Umar Tanimu, Hon. Ademola Bello, Permanent Secretaries from Ministry of Rural Development and Local Service Commission.
