Alhaji Aminu Salisu Sani has described allegations that Prince Mohammed Audu and other chieftains of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kogi state have been induced to support the second term aspiration of Governor Yahaya Bello as unfounded.

In a brief chat with newsmen in Abuja on Saturday, Aminu, a close associate of Mohammed Audu, stated that the son of first executive governor of Kogi State, late Prince Abubakar Audu, is not a cheap politician.

He noted that Mohammed Audu will never support any political action that is against the wishes of Kogi state electorate.

Aminu described the reports alleging that the former chairman of Kogi state chapter of APC, Haddy Ametuo, Barr. Dangana Ocheja and Senator Mohammed Ohiare were bribed by Bello to ensure the Alex Kadiri led Kogi Elders Forum endorse his second term bid as “pure mischief by political gamblers”.

“I am a very close associate of Prince Mohammed Audu and I can hold brief for him any day. He is a straight forward, down to earth politician who cherish the good name of his late father.

“It is pure mischief to allege that Prince Mohammed Audu will stoop so low to support Yahaya Bello for a second term in office in exchange for financial gains. Prince Mohammed Audu is not that cheap!

“It is unthinkable that Prince Mohammed Audu will support accept financial inducement from a Governor that has found it difficult to pay workers and pensioners in the state. The same governor who has not deemed it fit to honour his late father, Prince Abubakar Audu? Governor Yahaya Bello who never deemed it fit to pay a simple condolence visit to late Prince Audu’s family? He refused to name the state university after former Governor Abubakar Audu after public commitments and cannot even name a single street in the state after him!

“Prince Mohammed Audu is not a prodigal son. He holds the virtues and all that his late father represents in high esteem. He is understands the pains and expectations of the good people of Kogi state and will never associate with any political action that is against them,” he said.

Aminu urged the teeming supporters of Prince Mohammed Audu to ignore the report and remain committed to the efforts to liberate Kogi state.
