Kano state governor bans Islamic Cleric from preaching, orders closure of mosque

Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has banned an Islamic Cleric, Abduljabbar Nasiru Kabara from preaching and ordered the closure of his mosque over inciting comments..
However the state govern said the measure was to prevent break down of law and order.
The state Commissioner of information Malam Muhammad Garba disclosed this shortly after the state executive council meeting.
He however added that the government has also ordered the commissioner of Police and other security agencies to enforce the closure and ensure strict compliance to the directives.
He said the decision was adopted at the state weekly executive council meeting.
He also announced that all seminaries run by the clergyman would be shut down pending investigation by security agencies.
He noted that all broadcast stations both radio and television in the state are also directed to stop the broadcast of Sheikh Abduljabbar Nasiru Kabara preaching or sermon with immediate effect.
