The Kogi State Peoples Democratic Party Presidential Campaign Council has observed with seriousness and apprehension the massive inflow of thugs into Kogi State mostly imported from Benue, Edo and Taraba States all in an efforts to cause violence, rig and disrupt the forthcoming elections.

In a statement signed by Austin Okai, Spokesman of the Kogi State PDP PPCC, alleged that it has it on good authority that Gov. Yahaya Bello and the APC is planning to cause violence in a manner similar to what was obtained during the bye election held last year August to fill the vacant stool for the Lokoja Kogi Federal Constituency Seat.
The PDP PPCC also says the Independent National Electoral Commission should when and confirm to the people of Lokoja Kogi Federal constituency when and if the Chief of Staff to Gov. Yahaya Bello actually transferred his PVC to Lokoja, pointing out that it is in public domain that the CoS is boosting that he would vote in Lokoja Club Polling unit, and to also lead the onslaught against the PDP like it happened during the last August bye election for Lokoja Kogi Federal constituency.
The PDP PPCC therefore called on the INEC to come out clear to the people on when the transfer of the PVC of Edward Onoja to Lokoja from Olamaboro LGA was done.
The Statement said the APC led administration aside the massive importation of thugs with the intention to hijack ballot boxes, cause violence have been assigned with Sienna Cars and are allegedly armed with AK47, Pump Action guns, Axes and cutlasses.
The PDP PPCC Call on the INEC and the Security agencies to check the APC perfected plans to ensure LOKOJA Koto election is be marred with violence.
The PDP says it is aware that the APC has perfected plans to also begin mass arrest of some key PDP youths and leaders, but condemned in strong terms the physical assault that is allegedly been planned on Hon. Benjamin Ikani Okolo, Sen. Dino Melaiye and so many party loyalists who have already been placed on wanted list.
The Kogi PDP PPCC also frowned at the expected role of the Administrator of Ijumu LGA to lead in the arrest of PDP members in the West senatorial district, said the APC desperation is coming on the hills of the total rejection it has suffered in the hands of Kogi people following the suffering, hardship, loss of job inflicted on them by the APC led administration under Gov. Yahaya Bello.
The PDP also called on the INEC, Security agencies, Foreign and local observers, to be at alert as it has it on good authority that the APC have printed fake ballot papers in their possession, having painted some cars with colours of the FRSC with thugs arranged to wear road safety uniforms to convey sensitive electoral material that would be swapped and diverted to the strongholds of the APC.
The Kogi PDP PPCC says it would not take for granted intelligence report of the plans by the APC to create violence, attack and arrest PDP members with the plan to rig, and disrupt the Saturday’s election.
