The defection Rumours of the Senate President, Ahmed Lawan, the Governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni and the Governor of Jigawa State, Mohammed Abubakar Badaru, from the All Progressives Congress APC to the Peoples Democratic Party PDP may affect APC ahead of the 2023 Polls.
It was gathered by the Geniusmedia.com that Ahmed Lawan, Mai Mala Buni and see Abubakar Badaru, had meeting with the former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar over his Presidential Ambition in 2023.
It was also gathered that the meeting was held at the Discrete Lodge in Abuja. Though, the outcome of the meeting was not publicised but it might be, to perfect the decision of the trio, to dump the ruling Party APC for the Peoples Democratic Party PDP.
It was revealed that Mai Mala Buni is not having the grip of the Party in his state and the Senate President, Senator Ahmed Lawan is also looking for all means to ensure that Power remains in the North, so that he can return as Senate President in 2023.
However, the Defection Rumours of Ahmed Lawan, Mai Mala Buni and Mohammed Abubakar Badaru from APC to PDP, may affect the Progress of APC in 2023.
The reason is that, if the trio could dump APC for PDP, APC may find it difficult to win the forthcoming Presidential Election. The Senate President, Ahmed Lawan may influence some Senators to defect along with him, to PDP.
Meanwhile, The Senators will also have their Loyalists in the the Party, that will follow them to PDP. It should be recalled that Governor Buni is the Chairman National Convention/Extraordinary And Planning Committee of APC.
This means that Governor Buni will also influence some of Party faithfuls to dump APC for PDP. The three APC Leaders are Leaders to reckon with and the Leaders of the Party, should not Play with their defections to PDP.
It should be recalled that Atiku Abubakar, is an influential Personalty, this means he can Influence some APC Leaders into PDP. Though, the outcome of their meeting has not been revealed to the Public, but the Leaders of APC should not underrate the meeting, Atiku had with them but instead, they should find all means to stop the Leaders, from defecting to PDP.
