History will not be completed in Lokoja/Koto Karfe Federal Constituency without recalling efforts that changed both social ,economic as well as the development of infrastructure in the area during the long stretch three term tenure of Late Alhaji Buba Jibril ,the immediate House leader,in the House of Representatives.
But,what will also relive his tenure is the ascension of Rt Honourable Shaba Ibrahim,the current serving member in the green chamber, representing the same area.
This is solely because the people of the area believed strongly in ‘one good turn deserves another’,to ensure continuity,so they voted the PDP, under the platform the lawmaker won,upturn and returned by the Court of Appeal, Abuja.
Shaba’s body language as an administrator,public commentator,politician,achiever and former council boss,speak volumes to his election by the people of the area in 2019.
Though,the power that be scuttled the whole process to award undeserved victory to his opponents,but the court being the last hope of the common man,unsuspectingly reverse the whole trend to Rt Honourable Shaba Ibrahim’s favour.
This, however brought to an end to the short-lived political abberation witnessed by the area in contrast to the will of the people freely expressed on the two occasions, during the bye election and the 2019 general elections.
The two abridged lawmakers obviously were not the choice of the people of the area,this is basically because of the unique nature of the political class,system,players and expectations of the people.
Shaba’s qualities,traits, utterances and political believe as well as expectations of democratic dividends of the people lies in the past experience of good leadership and his potentials to drive more success interms sustenace and initiaves.
As a choice of the people,not minding few months behind his other colleagues at the lower house,Shaba’s desire to impact on the lives of the people of the area was glaringly uncompromising, and tailored towards the advancement of the people in all facets .
Shortly, after his inauguration and conscious of the demands of both the office and his people,the lawmaker did not spare time by swinging into action in proposing bills,motions, contributions that will bridge the gap of few months abridgement, occassioned by the death of 8th and part of 9th assembly of the lower house.
Rt Honourable Shaba Ibrahim embarked on aggressive census of the demands of the people of the area, particualrly as the host of the seat of government,yet no glaring sign of social equilibrium in these areas.
Soon after the familiarasation and thank you tour,amidst political and self induced crises,he was undettered from the need to provide social services like pipe borne water,hospital equipment and clinics, electricity,rural roads and other emergencies desiring of the Lawmaker.
This is apart from his giant strides in both elementary,primary and secondary education,sports and charitable activities through donations of cash and food items to the vulnerable both during occasions and intermittently at the Yuletide .
Hon Shaba’s contributions on national issues and those that have direct bearing on his Constituency is on high pedestal, particularly the resumption of the dredging of River Niger to Baro,as well as other federal government projects.
His efforts has returned quality representation to the people of the area witnessed for over one decade back to life, through deployment of Constituency projects, Constituency offices both in Lokoja/Koton Karfe.
He laid a solid foundation for aggressive employment and engagement opportunity and made solid provision for empowerment of the people of the area, through skill acquisition,charity,economic development and uninterrupted template that will sustain other outlets of engagements.
Just few months to his resumption,the people of the area are already singing glorious song that will usher in the over one decade development back to the area.
As you mark your Birthday,by adding another year today,we pray that your development strides will replicate both your current tenure and subsequent ones like your predecessor,who left an indelible and unequalled development strides in the area.
