The entire landscape of Mopamuro LGA was enveloped in ecstatic jubilation as the people of the Local Government received their political hero and the immediate past Local Government Administrator, Hon. Moses Sunday Alumo.
From Ward 1 to 10 of the Local Government, supporters of the APC trooped out in solidarity with the man many called the Jagaban of Mopamuro politics.
Eyewitnesses told our reporters that the crowd was unprecedented as the people of the Local Government expressed confidence in the Administrator.
One of the supporters of Hon. Alumo said the Administrator has united and developed the Local Government Area. She identified herself as Olubukola.
“We thank God for giving the Administrator the grace to start and finish the race well. He is a unifier and a politician who believes in development. We are waiting for him to show the world that we believe in him and we support him 100%.
“Those who were given 1000 Naira to protest against him earlier in the day by some politicians knew they labored in vain as the people of Mopamuro have already spoken with one voice”.
It would be recalled that about 14 youth carried placards to protest against Alumo’s Chairmanship ambition.
But the Personal Assistant to the former Administrator and frontline Chairmanship Aspirant , Obasun Samuel said those against Alumo will still come to work for him.
“Those against him within the party are very few. But we still recognize their voices and we shall speak with them to see reason why Alumo should be allowed to consolidate on his achievements.
“But I think majority of those against him are PDP people who were defeated during the last Governorship election. They felt bad that Alumo could coordinate their defeat in such a manner. With Alumo, Mopamuro is in safe hands”, he said.
A long motorcade as well as motorcyclists led artisans, market women , youth groups and other bodies to ensure a triumphal entry for the former Administrator.
Addressing the mammoth crowd, the former Administrator thanked the Almighty God, the Governor and the people for all their support during his tenure as Administrator; assuring them that he will never take their support for granted.
“The community we ensured had light doesn’t need me to go to the media before they use their electricity. I don’t believe in propaganda. We have affected lives positively.
“I thank God Almighty for the grace to serve in good health. I thank my leader and my Governor, Alh. Yahaya Bello for considering me worthy of the appointment. I also thank the good people of Mopamuro for standing resolutely by me.
“Let me thank all my leaders and colleagues whom we worked together to develop this LGA. May God bless you all”.
