A group under the aegis of Kogi Initiative For Good Governance has condemned in its entirety, the call by a group by the name of Kogi State Youth Leaders Forum over what it described as frivolous petitions and planned protest in Abuja in connection with recent attacks in Agojeju-Odo.
Briefing newsmen in Lokoja on Monday, the Coordinator of the group, Solomon Ejiga called on the Inspector General of Police, Department of State Services and all security agencies to arrest any group of persons who assemble in Abuja for protest in connection with the attack in Omala Local Government area.
The group acknowledged that some high-profile suspects in the unfortunate killings in Omala local government area have been arrested by the state government and were assisting security agencies with information that will help unravel more details about the perpetrators and sponsors.
The group’s Coordinator commended His Excellency, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for taking swift action leading to the arrest of the suspects.
He noted that Governor Ododo’s approach towards combating insecurity in the state was already yielding positive results and called on the Governor not to be deterred by the action of the unpatriotic elements in the quest to deliver good governance to the citizens of Kogi state.
According to Ejiga, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has set his priority right on his mission to consolidate on the solid security architecture put in place by the immediate past administration in the state.
He further pointed out that the determination of Governor Ododo to turn around the fortunes of the Confluence state was on course hence unpatriotic individuals who are still reeling from their political losses in the last election needed to desist from any attempt to undermine the resolve of the state Government to secure lives and property of the people.
The group therefore called on every responsible youth group in the state who are genuinely concerned about the peace and security of Kogi State to rally round the state government and support ongoing efforts to bring about lasting peace and stability in all parts of
the state.
